Ava Hall

The Empress of Global Entertainment & Culture

After an award-winning & stellar tenure with BET US, culminating as Vice President of Creative Services and Special Projects, BET Networks tapped Hall to help launch and serve as the first ever Vice President of Programming and Production for BET International in 2007. In that role, she was the mastermind of BET International’s Programming and development, on-air creative and channel operations for all of the international channels. With Hall’s programming and brand leadership, BET International has grown in distribution to over 55 countries in the UK, France, South Korea and the continent of Africa and ultimately reaching 35 million households.

Hall developed several international original programs including “Behind the Curtain: Eclipsed,” “Music Around the Globe,” “Culture Vibe,” “My Chapter and Verse,” “Brits Abroad,” “My Heritage,” “Welcome To America,” “and “Mad Swag” and several other specials. Ava ensured international artists had a bright spotlight in the US tentpoles and championed connections between artists and audiences around the world, in many cases helping launch the careers of emerging, international talent across the globe. Hall curated and managed the international artist categories and global activations for the award winning BET Awards, Hip Hop Awards, Sunday Best and the lifestyle festival BET Experience.

Hall also created, developed and launched BET International’s first ever pro social campaign, “Global Good,” which profiles celebrities and real people whose contributions, humanitarian or charity efforts, benefit the world’s greater good. In 2013, Hall joined Viacom international media networks as Vice President of Programming and Brand Advancement, to continue her work growing BET International around the globe. In this role, she led the global programming strategies, as well as, the charge for growing and managing the brand in territories around the world. Hall spent 23 years of her career growing the Iconic BET Brand around the globe.

In addition to her degree in communications, Hall is an alumna of the prestigious Women in cable Telecommunications (WICT), Betsy Magness Leadership Institute in conjunction with the center for Creative Leadership, The National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in communications (NAMIC), as well as the Executive Leadership Development Program in conjunction with UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Hall is the founder and CEO of Ava Lizzette Living, a healthy living, high-style and positive inspiration lifestyle brand. The company’s mission is to creatively inspire the world to live well, feel good, be good, and do good. The mission comes to life via a myriad of sub companies, including Ava Lizette Designs and the A.Love Foundation. Hall is the author of raw juice recipe book, “Memoirs of a Juice Doctor.”

Hall’s most revered accomplishment is the role of mother to her beautiful daughter Ariana Soleil.

“It’s important that art forms be celebrated from their original form. If you notice, when you go into a leading museum around the world, whether it’s the Guggenheim, The Met or The Victoria & Albert museum, you’re not just seeing relics of American culture — you’re seeing relics from different cultures all over the world. If historians can recognize this, I think we as arbitrators and promoters of culture should understand this as well, there needs to be a balance of what is represented. I look at the world as a global village and everyone needs to be represented in balance.”

“Music & Art are both celebratory and cautionary. Artists can use music to speak love and celebrate things they adore, but it can also be cautionary in that it can speak truth to power.
