Mr. Wacieni hails from Nairobi, Kenya and is a Senior Investment Director at Africa50 where he focuses on late-stage equity investments in the infrastructure sector across Africa spanning power, transportation, ICT and healthcare sectors.
He has over 20 years of experience in financial services having begun his career in investment banking in New York at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York and then in London. Prior to joining Africa50 in October 2019, he was a Business Development Director at Globeleq LP where he focused on power infrastructure investing. Prior to Globeleq, he was an Executive Director at J.P. Morgan’s Power & Utilities investment banking team in New York where he advised on M&A, leveraged buyouts, restructurings and debt and equity financings across globally.
He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA with honours from Harvard College.
