Award winning celebrity, Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua also known as Seyi Shay was born in Tottenham, London. She began her music career at six years old and joined her school choir. The choir went on to perform with the London Community Gospel Choir, accompanying the choir on a world tour.
Seyi Shay signed her first record deal with Sir George Martin; the producer of the legendary band, The Beatles. She became the lead singer of the British Pop/R&B girl band, ‘From Above.’ The group was signed to Sony/Columbia under the management of Matthew Knowles.
In 2011, Seyi Shay continued her musical career in Nigeria and began releasing her singles ‘Irawo’, ‘Killin Me Softly’ ft Timaya, ‘Chairman’ and ‘Ragga Ragga’. In 2014, she released ‘Murda’ ft Patoranking, a song that was released to wide acclaim. In 2015, she released her debut album, “Seyi or Shay.” Her latest hit single ‘Gimmie Love Remix featuring Teyana Taylor’ was premiered on the Ebro in the Morning Show snd her latest Tv reality show “Nigerian Idol” airs on MNet.
