Zelda Akindele is a partner in the Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions practice groups at the leading African law firm, Templars.
She holds a Master of Laws in Banking and International Finance from the London School of Economics and is admitted to practice law in Nigeria and in England & Wales. She was previously a Deputy Executive on the Legal Team of United Capital (formerly UBA Global Markets) and began her career in the finance practice of international law firm, Clifford Chance LLP in London and Milan.
Zelda has 20 years of experience advising on Nigerian and international financing and mergers & acquisition transactions. She regularly advises Private Equity and Venture Capital investors, investee companies, founders, private capital providers, financial institutions, corporate borrowers and project sponsors. In the last 10 years her practice has extended to the Fintech sector where her experience includes product structuring and market entry advice. She is recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers & Partners, Who’s Who Legal: Nigeria and is one of a handful of female lawyers recognized as an IFLR1000 Woman Leader in the Nigerian market for 2020, 2021 & 2022.
She is passionate about empowering young women for professional roles and regularly acts as a mentor to young female professionals.
